Beneficiation and extraction of beryllium Ores to obtain the end BERYLLIUM products IN NUCLEAR GRADE

Abstract: 

The present work aims to perform beryl upgrading studies because the overall content of Be in the dumps does not satisfy the requirement for the plant. The ore has to be pre-concentrated to raise the beryl content to a suitable concentration. Also, this project focuses on the separation of Beryllium from beryl using precipitation, complexation, and ion-exchange separation technique and comparing the obtained results with that obtained previously by solvent extraction technique as a part of the project aimed to produce purified Beryllium oxide.

 

 

Experiences  :

- 16/10/1987-1990 Chemistin Inorganic Chemistry Department, Inorgnic and Physical Chemistry  Sector,  National Research Centre (NRC) since studied  all things about the solid state chemistry and its applications.

-16/10/1990-11/11/1996:Chemist in Ore Dressing Department, Ores Sector, Central Metallurigical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI) worked in :

Beneficiation and upgrading of different ores and minerals by physical and chemical techniques such as crushing , grinding , classification, Gravity seperation, magentic and electrostatic  seperation, selective floculation and different flotation techniques (e.g. froth flotation , carrier flotation and column flotation).Both on bench and pilot scale as well as feasibility studies of mining projects  -  Chemist: since 1996 in Nuclear Materials Authority, Cairo, Egypt in the various fields as follows:

-           Complete chemical analyses for igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.

-           Separation of the heavy minerals using the heavy liquids.

-           Geochemical studies and interpretations for minerals and their fluid inclusions.

-           Chemical analyses of Beryllium in different ores, in all instrunments available in the authority

-          Oredressing of all beyllium   minerals especially beryl

-           Ion exchange resin techniques and solvent extraction for beryllium liquirs.

-           Dealing with computer programs to calculate and interpret the geochemical and radiometric parameters andteaching and eduacated the Qbasic and programming in the high tecnolgy of engineering in el asher oh ramadan .

-           Past experince (above 5 years ) in teaching and eduacated the physical chemistry inHelwanUniversity

-           Past exeperience above 10 years in teaching and educated mineral processing technology plant design and ore dressing in faculty of engineering in al azahar university.
